2018 Pennsylvania Statewide Payroll Conference Planning Has Begun!

2018 Pennsylvania Statewide Payroll Conference Hosted By 

The Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the American Payroll Association

In order for our event to be successful, we need to begin some early planning.

The two main focus areas at this time: 

Conference Logo & Staffing the Committees

The Tentative Timeline:
April 30th, 2017: Submissions due for Conference Logo
May 31st, 2017: Conference Logo decided by Vote
June 2017: Planning Meeting with All Committee Members - Budget Provided
September 8th, 2017: Save the Date Sent via Email (also provided to SEPA)
October 1st, 2017: Registration Opened (for Attendees and Vendors)
August 15th, 2018: Registration Closed

The 2018 Conference 
Planning Committee

The Hershey Lodge 
as the Conference Location

The Event Date(s) will be:

Thursday, September 6th to September 7th, 2018

2018 Pennsylvania Statewide Payroll Conference Committees

Conference Chair:  Karen Schatz, CPP, Chapter President



Finance Committee: Chair: Barbara Taylor, CPP, Secretary & Treasurer – Provide updates as needed to the Committee Chairs on the Financial Status of the Conference


Conference Center D├ęcor: Plan & design all event decorations, conference bags, and decor


Vendors & Sponsors: Develop Vendor & Sponsor request sheets and obtain sponsorships; coordinate all on-site Vendor & Sponsor needs


Speakers & Credits:  Chair: Tricia Richardson, CPP, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Vice President

Develop topics; obtain all Speakers; apply for Credits; develop the Conference Program; ensure Speaker arrangements; ensure all Speaker needs are met; ensure all Conference materials are cleared through Quality Control; ensure Surveys are provided and Certificates of Attendance are forwarded


Marketing & Advertising: Prepare all Marketing and Advertising Materials and ensure it is cleared through Quality Control


Quality Control:  Review all documents for spelling & grammar; ensure all information is checked for accuracy, math, reasonableness and is within the Conference Branding


Registration Committee:  Ensure all conference bags are "stuffed" accordingly; produce name tags; manage sign-in sheets; ensure the registration desk for questions is always covered


Donation Committee:  Choose a charitable organization to sponsor; plan for the solicitation of donations; collect and deliver the donations
