    The Payroll Analyst will manage payroll processing of semi-monthly, bi-weekly and weekly payroll for U.S. and Canadian employees utilizing third-party payroll system. This role will also ensure all federal, state and local tax and labor agency compliance requirements are met. The Analyst will assist the Payroll Manager in planning and executing all year-end related tasks including W2’s, T4’s and other related processes for U.S. and Canadian payrolls. This position will work with various business units and departments to assist in monitoring and controlling labor dollars. The Analyst will be responsible for various other payroll duties include verifying new hire information, employment and personal employee changes, garnishment administration, audit preparation, system maintenance, registration of tax jurisdictions, answering inquiries via the phone and emails, filing, etc. The Payroll Analyst must provide the highest level of accuracy and thoroughness in all of the payroll duties.

    Key accountabilities & deliverables:
    • Proficient in the ADP payroll systems processing, maintenance & reporting
    • Proficient in the Kronos timekeeping system processing, maintenance & reporting
    • Payroll processing for weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, uploading and reconciling hours in the payroll system, reconciling, analyzing and preparing payroll reports
    • Processes garnishments and levies and prepares general ledger entries
    • Reconcile payroll tax filings for Federal, State and local governmental entities as well as other miscellaneous payroll withholdings
    • Reconciles quarterly and annual forms: 940, 941 and State Unemployment reports
    • Assists with preparation of monthly and yearly governmental filings, including W-2’s
    • Maintains limits on 401K and other benefit deductions within the payroll system
    • Handles the compilations of all external and internal audit requirements
    • Understands the application of labor and tax laws related to payroll
    • Assist the Finance Team with any GL updates, resolve any issues with invoicing, register and setup new tax jurisdictions as needed, maintain payroll processing schedule, create new earnings/deductions/tax jurisdictions/accumulators
    • Effective communication of payroll information, requests or issues with all levels of employees and management as well as external service providers and agencies
    • Ability to extract information to identify and resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner.  This requires a detailed understanding of how to efficiently extract and analyze data from various systems and sources, using query tools and Excel functionality (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)
    • Ability to work around and respond quickly to system failures (e.g. Various HRIS and payroll system solutions) to ensure all deadlines are met
    • Maintain quality and accuracy throughout payroll processing cycles to ensure that proper controls are followed and new controls, when required, are established and implemented
    • Work efficiently and effectively with the IT support team to analyze/resolve system issues and test system changes that can affect the accuracy of the payrolls.
    • Work efficiently and effectively with all levels HR team to analyze and resolve data issues, ensure proper collection and reporting of fringe benefits, assist with reporting and analysis of payroll data.

    Skills & Experience Required:
    Essential Criteria

    • Experience in ADP payroll system
    • Demonstrated success of leading project teams to achieving quantifiable savings by applying sourcing methods
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, deep attention to detail, professionalism, and demonstrated ability to develop relationships, and maintain business partnerships
    • Demonstrated soft skill experience- including critical thinking, time management, team building, collaboration, professional development, etc.
    • Excellent PC skills a must, knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint required
    Desirable criteria
    • ADP Enterprise (v5) experience
    • Kronos Timekeeping experience
    • Experience Microsoft Office Products including highly proficient skill level in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookup, etc.)

    Qualifications Required
    Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a progressively responsible payroll position with multi-state payroll responsibility
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience using a top-tier HRIS/Payroll system
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience with general ledger, payroll, and tax required; Knowledge of financial statement analysis
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
    • CPP certification preferred
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a progressively responsible payroll position with multi-state payroll responsibility
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience using a top-tier HRIS/Payroll system
